Blue Hills Café (also known as “Steve & Kathy’s” to many locals) is a family owned and operated restaurant in Dewey, Arizona, and has been in business since 1980. The restaurant is located about 15 miles southeast of Prescott, and just over an hour’s drive north of Phoenix.

The young husband and wife duo of Steve and Kathy Duryea moved to Arizona from New Jersey in 1979.  After struggling to find steady work in the local area amidst the financial strains of the recession, they got serious about business and purchased the preexisting Blue Hills Café in Dewey, AZ (which was actually located about ¼ mile south of its current location).

After a decade of growth and success, the couple outgrew the original space, and in 1990 purchased land and broke ground on what now is the current home of Steve & Kathy’s Blue Hills Café. The new restaurant is over twice the size of the previous space, has greatly improved accessibility/visibility, and affords ample parking for its many customers.

As their business grew, so did the Duryea family. The couple welcomed two children, Erin and Brad and watched them grow up alongside them in their family business. The children (both now adults) have worked in the restaurant in various capacities over the years and have recently taken on the day-to-day operations of the business. Erin and Brad can be seen most any day of the week cooking and/or serving customers, just as their parents once did.

Steve & Kathy’s Blue Hills Cafe has enjoyed over 40 years of successful business thanks to the support of their loyal customers. The family prides themselves in their fast and friendly service, and their ability to serve affordable family dining that everyone can enjoy. The Café offers daily breakfast & lunch and is open for dinner Tuesday through Friday. They look forward to your visit with them to try a delicious meal, a famous burger or food to-go; they know you will be glad you came.
